EXPRESSION, CONSIDERED

A softer look. Still distinctly you.

Botox Cosmetic and Dysport are prescription injectables that temporarily relax selected facial muscles to soften the appearance of certain expression lines. They work on muscle movement, while dermal fillers are used to add volume.

Your visit with Michele starts with the look you have in mind. She considers how your face moves, your features and your previous treatment experience, with an approach guided by your preferences.

Michele will explain the product and treatment areas she recommends, with dosing based on the chosen product, your health history and your assessment. The goal is a thoughtful result that feels right for you.

A THOUGHTFUL APPROACH

Give your result time to develop.

Changes develop over the days after treatment. Michele will discuss when to expect improvement, when to review your result and how long the effect may last for your proposed treatment. Timing and duration vary by product, area and individual response.

Have an occasion coming up? Share the date so there is time to plan your appointment and let the result settle. You’ll also discuss aftercare, follow-up and how to reach the practice with questions.

BEFORE YOUR VISIT

A few good
questions.

Are Botox and Dysport the same?

They are both botulinum toxin type A products, but their formulations, approved uses and units differ. Units cannot be directly compared or exchanged. Michele can explain the choice for the area being considered.

How are wrinkle relaxers different from fillers?

Wrinkle relaxers temporarily reduce muscle activity. Hyaluronic-acid fillers add gel-based volume in selected areas. The treatments address different concerns; your assessment helps determine whether either approach is appropriate.

What should I share before treatment?

Discuss allergies, medications, prior injections, pregnancy or breastfeeding, muscle or nerve conditions, and any swallowing or breathing problems. Mention an infection at a proposed injection site. Dysport is not suitable for someone with an allergy to cow’s milk protein.

What risks should I understand?

Injection-site discomfort, bruising, headache, or temporary eyelid or brow drooping can occur. Both products carry a warning about toxin effects spreading beyond the injection area. Seek immediate medical help for trouble swallowing, speaking or breathing after treatment. Review the full product information and your individual risks with Michele.

This information is general. A consultation is needed to assess suitability, individual risks and a care plan.
